Dr. Al Langlois, creator of Birdhouses & Beyond, was born on a sugar cane plantation in South Louisiana. He taught in the College of Agriculture at Arkansas State University for 34 years. Al is a well known after dinner speaker, entertaining crowds with hilarious tales of the south Louisiana Cajuns. The Cajun cabins of his boyhood home inspired Al’s original pieces. Some of his favorite designs are “shotgun” cabins, churches, and knothole houses. His creations have been featured in several publications including the Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest publication “Country Gardens.” His original designs add interest and fun to any backyard or garden.
